Stephen Parker FRICS - Profile Stephen Parker has worked for a leading West Country Housing Association for the last 20 years, with responsibility for in-house Architectural, Quantity Surveying, Clerk of Works and Health & Safety services across the Association’s construction activities. His areas of expertise include maintenance contract advice and cost control, new build consultancy services, stock survey/condition and business plan integration, environmental policy development, Egan initiatives and construction innovation.
Stephen is a chartered quantity surveyor, a qualified BRE EcoHomes Assessor, a member of the Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB), on the Green Register of Consultants, signed up to the ‘Future Foundations’ Sustainable Construction initiative and a member of the Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development. He was a founding member of the 1NTEGER ‘Intelligent and Green’ Network Group, being project manager on the first pilot Homes built in Wiltshire in 1999.
He has also managed a series of special projects including several solar hot water installations, a 30kW Photovoltaic project for 18 existing flats, Ground Source Heat Pumps and other renewable energy projects, obtaining both DTI Photovoltaic and Clear Skies renewable energy grant funding.
Stephen has worked at strategic as well as project management levels including being a Housing Association representative on the Building Research Housing Group Steering Committee, an active member in the 1NTEGER network, working with Sustainable Homes on the EcoHomes Club initiative and on the recently established South West Sustainable Homes Development Network.
A particular strength for Stephen is his detailed understanding of the technical, cost, social and wider issues around sustainable construction, innovation, renewable energy, energy efficiency and affordable warmth. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
